Fins Senior Academy

The objective of the Academy is to give our higher level swimmers and those showing potential, the opportunity to be introduced to competitive swimming and possibly a stepping stone before moving onto club swimming.

Not all children will want to move onto a club, or have the capability, but the Academy will allow them to use this hour long session to build on their skills, stamina and thus fitness. The main aim is to improve stamina whilst maintaining technique, as this is vital to help swimmers succeed. In addition to this, there will be a focus on competitive starts and turns.

The training session will also help to improve a swimmer’s confidence, discipline, commitment and hopefully create lasting friendships. We also hold internal competitions throughout the year to give swimmers the experience and opportunity to put into practice all their hard work.

Children will be expected to continue with their normal lessons where they will focus on the technical elements of the strokes alongside their one hour weekly Academy session.

Children who have passed Stage 7 will automatically be invited into the Academy, however teachers may nominate students showing potential at a lower stage. These students will be invited along by email.

The Swimming Academy is held Kings International College on Monday and Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:30pm and on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 7:30pm and 7:30 - 8pm

Please contact us if you would like to enrol your child. In addition to the above sessions, we also provide Rookie Lifeguard courses.
