What parents and swimmers should expect

Arriving at Farnborough Hill 
  • Farnborough Hill is very busy between 4.00 - 4.20 pm due to the school pupils going home, please do not arrive at Farnborough Hill before 4.20 pm if your lesson is starting at 4.30 pm.
  • When you arrive at the swimming pool, please park on the grass car park on the right and walk towards the pool via the lit footpath. Please do not walk along the road in between the tennis courts. Entry to the swimming pool will be via the entrance door directly into the lobby where swimmers can take off shoes and sanitise their hands.
  • With Covid restrictions lifted parents are welcome to come into the facility, please follow our one-way system to keep you safe. We also appreciate some parents may not feel comfortable coming inside yet, which is fine. We will check your contact details and ask that you return to your car for the duration of the lesson. Please do not wander around the school grounds and ensure that you are at the pool door ready to collect your child after their lesson.
  • We suggest swimmers arrive beach ready with hats and goggles already on. Dressing gowns are super quick to get on and off, so we suggest wearing one with a coat on top. 
  • Face coverings are recommended but not mandatory.
  • We will continue to sanitise touchpoints throughout every session to help keep everyone as safe as possible.
  • Please follow the guidelines of the safety posters around the pool.
Inside the Pool Building
  • At the entrance to the pool facility, swimmers and spectators can remove their shoes and leave them on the racking in the lobby area and proceed to the changing rooms. When in the changing rooms, swimmers can take off their outer layers, pop everything in a bag and hang on a peg, leaving the bench free for other swimmers.
  • Space is very limited on poolside so we will continue to run a one-way system around the pool. Please wait in your designated area outside the changing rooms so that we can guide you round the pool. 
  • Please note that it can get very warm inside the pool facility, and we would recommend wearing light clothing and bring a bottle of water. There is also limited space on poolside and no seating. Parents wishing to spectate will need to sit on the poolside under the pool cover, so we suggest you bring your child’s towel to sit on. If you are really lucky, the children might make a big enough splash for you to a receive a welcome cooling shower! 😊
Swimming equipment
  • New swimmers requiring hats will receive them at the entrance door when they check in.
  • As our swimming pools are chlorinated, Swim England research has shown that rinsing the equipment in the swimming pool water is sufficient to sanitise equipment. 
Changing after lessons

- After their swimming lesson, swimmers can go to the correct gender changing room, get completely dried and pop on their dressing gowns and coats. Please put shoes on once back in the lobby area. 
- For any parents not coming onto poolside, please pick swimmers up from the black door, we will not allow any swimmers to walk back to cars without you, regardless of their age, for their safety. Please exit the car park and follow the road down to the main road to leave Farnborough Hill.

Certificates
  • Certificates can be ordered as normal through our online shop and posted to you or collected from poolside at the front of the pool.
