Changes at Sherfield English

Swimming Lessons at Sherfield English pool
What parents and swimmers should expect
 Directions to the pool
  •  Can be found HERE on Fins website.
Coming to the pool:
  • Please park with your car facing the wooden fence and do not park sideways against the fence as this reduces parking for other families.
  • We suggest swimmers arrive beach ready with hats and goggles already on. Dressing gowns are super quick to get on and off, so we suggest wearing one with a coat on top.
  • Face coverings are recommended but not mandatory.
Arrival:
  • When you arrive at the swimming pool, please wait outside on the patio and wait until a few minutes before your lesson time. As this is a private home and the owners have dogs, please keep to the path and do not go onto the grass/garden area.
  • When you are entering the pool, please use the hand sanitiser provided before going inside.
  • Entry will be via the door closest to the house.
  • Please follow the guidelines of the safety posters around the pool.
Inside the pool area:
  • On entry, please take your and your swimmer’s possessions, including shoes with you.
  • Parents can sit poolside to watch lessons. Face coverings are recommended but not mandatory.
  • Please use the chairs provided on poolside. A few minutes before the end of the lesson we ask that you sanitise your chair before leaving the swimming pool and place the used paper towel in the bin next to the exit door which will be the doors furthest from the house. Please leave poolside as quickly as possible.
Swimming equipment:
  • New swimmers requiring hats will receive them on their first lesson.
  • Please bring your own changing mat if required and take nappies home with you.
  • As our swimming pools are chlorinated, Swim England research has shown that rinsing the equipment in the swimming pool water is sufficient to sanitise equipment between users.
Changing after lessons:
  • Where possible, wrap and go. Alternatively, children can change poolside or there are two changing areas available.
  • In order to leave poolside as quickly as possible, we suggest wearing a dressing gown or an over-the-head poncho towel and crocs/flipflops that are quick and easy to put on.
  • Please exit via the doors furthest from the house so that we have a one-way system.
  • If you or your swimmer use the toilet, please sanitise the door handles when exiting, placing the used paper towel in the waste bin provided. This is a Sani-flow toilet so please only use a small amount of toilet tissue and do not place any nappies or sanitary items in the bin, please take them home with you. For our younger swimmers in nappies, please ensure they have a swim nappy and a confinement nappy to avoid any unfortunate leakages in the pool. Again, please take all nappies home with you.
Certificates:
  • Certificates can be ordered as normal and collected from your teacher or posted to your house.
Finally:

We have thought long and hard about how to ensure everyone is safe and can enjoy their lessons. If you notice anything that needs our attention or something that you think we can do better, please do speak to us or email us on office@finsswimmingclub.org and let us know so we can address it quickly. Thank you for your support.

We are super excited to see you at the pool!
