Changes at Carwarden

Swimming Lessons at Carwarden School
What parents and swimmers should expect

Directions to the pool
  • Can be found HERE on Fins website.
Coming to the pool
  • When you arrive at the swimming pool, go through the green gates and park in the car park. If the green gates are shut for any reason, swimming lessons have been cancelled and you will have been sent a text message. Please do not try to force the gates open, you will break the mechanism and be responsible for any cost involved in repairing it.
  • Entry to the swimming pool will be via the black gates walking across the playground by the blue play equipment. Please do not allow children to play on this equipment, Fins Swimming Club are not insured for you to do so, and the school will report any usage to us.
  • At the entrance door directly into the lobby, please sanitise hands and take off shoes and pop on the storage rack.
  • We suggest swimmers arrive beach ready with hats and goggles already on. Dressing gowns are super quick to get on and off, so we suggest wearing one with a coat on top.
  • Face coverings are recommended but not mandatory.
  • We will continue to sanitise touchpoints throughout every session to help keep everyone as safe as possible.
  • Please follow the guidelines of the safety posters around the pool.
Inside the changing rooms
  • If you or your swimmer are not swim ready, please pop into the changing rooms, get ready and take all your belongings with you onto poolside.
  • We will continue to operate a one-way system around the pool to keep everyone as safe as possible.
  • Please use the sanitiser and disposable towel to sanitise any bench or chair you have used to help us keep everything as clean and safe as possible.
  • There are toilets in each changing room, these are Sani-flow toilets so please only use a small amount of toilet tissue and place any sanitary items into the sanitary bin.
  • For our younger swimmers in nappies, please ensure they have a swim nappy and a confinement nappy to avoid any unfortunate spillages in the pool. Please take all nappies home with you and do not put them in the sanitary bins or any other bins on the school site.
Swimming equipment
  • New swimmers requiring hats will receive them at the entrance door when they check in.
  • As our swimming pools are chlorinated, Swim England research has shown that rinsing the equipment in the swimming pool water is sufficient to sanitise equipment between users.
Changing after lessons
  • After their swimming lesson, swimmers can go to the correct gender changing room, get completely dried and pop on their dressing gowns and coats. Please put shoes on once back in the lobby area.
Certificates
  • Certificates can be ordered as normal and posted to you or collected from our poolside operator at the entrance door.
Finally..

We have thought long and hard about how to ensure everyone is safe and can enjoy their lessons. If you notice anything that needs our attention or something that you think we can do better, please do speak to us or email us at office@finsswimmingclub.org and let us know so we can address it quickly. Thank you for your support.

We are super excited to see you at the pool!
