Distance Morning October 2017
Our swimmers have gone the distance!

Twice a year, our swimmers have the opportunity to join us for a Distance Day where they are able to come along to swim as far as they can and earn an award for various distances. This can be anywhere between 5 and 5,000 metres!
Swimmers are encouraged to obtain sponsorship for the distance that they achieve and the money raised is donated to charity. This time, we have been raising funds for two charities which are very close to the hearts of one of our Fins’ families. The two chosen charities are MIND and the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance Trust. We are raising money for these two charities in loving memory of James Garrad, a Fins swimmer and Pool Helper who sadly passed away earlier this year. James’ family and friends have been raising money for these two charities, one in support of those living with mental health issues, and the other in support of a charity James was very involved with. We feel very honoured to be able to raise funds to support the incredible work these two charities do!
We would like to say a huge well done and thank you to all those who have been involved! So far we have raised over £300 with sponsorship still coming in, that’s an incredible amount of support!
Our next Distance Day will be held in the end of May with details to follow nearer the time for anyone interested in taking part.
