Saturday 27th October 9.30am - 12.30 pm - Distance Swimming Day - Kings
Every year Farnborough Fins hold a Distance Day for our swimmers to give them the opportunity to swim as far as they can, without the half hour time constraint of lessons. And this year is no different!
We warmly invite you to join our Fundraising Distance Day to allow children, adults and parents who wish to swim longer distances the opportunity. This event always provides an extremely positive and encouraging environment to see just how far can be swam, whether it be 10m or 5000m!
If you would like to attend our Distance Day, please email office@finsswimmingclub.org. We will then contact you with a time slot to come along and join in the fun, as well as send you your own sponsorship form!
Saturday 27th October 1.30pm - 4.30pm - Underwater Photography Afternoon - Kings
We are pleased to announce that we will be holding an underwater photoshoot with Starfish Underwater Photography who are experts in under and above water photography!
The photoshoot will be available to swimmers of all ages and will be held at the Kings International College in Camberley.
Each photoshoot will last for half an hour and there will be up to four children per photoshoot. After a warm up in the pool, our lovely teacher Dee, will assist children in swimming under the water or arranging family groups for photos. The photographer will be rotating around the group to get as many photos of the children as possible across the period of the shoot.
There will be a fantastic array of costumes for little ones available on poolside including Superman, fairy, frog, Santa, Mother Christmas, Buzz Lightyear, little devil, princess, angel, sailor, pirate and more! If your child has a costume they would like to bring they are more than welcome!
The photoshoot is available to all Fins swimmers, their siblings and family and a space on the photoshoot costs £30 per child and £25 for any additional siblings.

Thursday 1st November 6.30pm - 7.30pm - Academy Race Night - Kings
We will be holding the FFSC Academy Race Night at Kings. This event has proved to be a great success and offers the Academy swimmers an opportunity to put their hard work into practice in competition conditions, but in a familiar environment. Races are organised by age and include races in all 4 strokes, plus an individual medley.
We would love to see your child there, so please email us at office@ finsswimmingclub.org to let us know which of the following stroke races they would like to enter, they are welcome to enter as many as they wish!

Prizes will be awarded at our next Awards Presentation which will be held at the start of the spring term. If your child would prefer not to race, please do still come along and support your fellow swimmers! Bring your costume as if you change your mind you can enter a race on the night!
We have a choice of One to One or Group Crash Courses organised for the Summer Holidays for week commencing 26th July and 2nd August. Courses are being held at Farnborough Hill School, Farnborough and Sherfield English, Romsey. One to One Lessons £125, One to Two Lessons £100 per swimmer These lessons are available to swimmers of all ages and availability 5 X 30 minute lessons Monday to Friday at the same time every day w/c 26th July and 2nd August Group Intensive Lessons £45 Children will be placed in groups according to their ability 5 X 30 minute lessons Monday to Friday at the same time every day w/c 26th July and 2nd August Book Here
Following the latest Government announcement, Fins are pleased to be able to run a course of 5 x daily One to One or One to Two lessons (teacher to swimmer ratio) at Farnborough Hill School and Sherfield English pool (near Romsey). A course of 5 x 30 minute lessons, held at the same time each day of half term costs £125. If two swimmers share a teacher the weekly cost is £200 for both swimmers (£100 each). This is a really great opportunity for swimmers to really boost their swimming skills as lessons are tailored to the individual's ability, especially after having had such a long break due to Coronavirus. We are delighted to announce that we will be running new lessons again from tomorrow! Wednesday 2nd December as follows: Sherfield English, Romsey Pool - Wednesday 2nd December onwards - all lessons restarting Farnborough Hill School Pool - Monday 4th January onwards - lessons restarting for Stage 3+ swimmers only Unfortunately and very sadly, because of the pandemic, we have had to cancel all lessons at Kings International College, Frimley Church of England School and Carwarden School pools. Sunday 1st November 2020 Parents and Swimmers, In the knowledge of the government measures announced last night, we have taken the very tough decision to cancel all lessons from Monday 2nd to Wednesday 4th November before the national lockdown commences on Thursday 5th November. This will be for the duration of the lockdown and until swimming pools are able to reopen. We take the health and well being of all incredibly seriously and feel that this is the best decision to keep everyone as safe as possible. As with any pool closure, you will not have lost the lessons, they will simply be added to the end of your booking. We will miss seeing you all at the pool hugely and we thank you for your support during this time. Keep safe, From all of us at Fins.

Dear Parents and Swimmers, Thank you to everyone who completed our survey, we are so delighted to see that many of you are looking forward to returning to swimming lessons at some point soon, we can't wait to see you! You may have just heard Boris Johnson's address to the House of Commons regarding further lockdown restrictions lifting. Unfortunately, swimming pools are to stay closed for the moment. Once we do get the go-ahead, we can open the Kings and Romsey pools very quickly to run a summer programme and will let you know about this as soon as we can. Frimley, Carwarden and Farnborough Hill pools will remain closed over the summer. Stay safe and well and we look forward to seeing you soon.
We hope you are all keeping well during these unprecedented times. Throughout this recent period, we have taken Government advice with the priority being the health and well-being of all. In the knowledge of these on-going measures and the need for people to continue to be socially distant, we are having to cancel the May half term crash courses and move these to either the Summer holidays or the October Half Term holidays. The dates/times for the 1 to 1 or 1 to 2 lessons in the Summer holidays are as follows: Week 1: commencing 27th July, every 30 minutes between 8am and 8pm; Week 2: commencing 3rd August, every 30 minutes between 8am and 8pm; Week 3: commencing 10th August, every 30 minutes between 8am and 9am, 11am and 8pm; Week 4: commencing 17th August, every 30 minutes between 8am and 9am, 11am and 8pm. Week 5: commencing 24th August, every 30 minutes between 8am and 10am, 1pm and 4.30pm, 5.30pm and 8pm. The dates/times for the 1 to 1 or 1 to 2 lessons in October Half Term are as follows: Week 1 only: commencing 26th October, every 30 minutes between 8am and 10am, 1pm and 4.30pm, 5.30pm and 8pm. Please note that the Easter and May crash courses were for 4 days, due to the Bank Holidays, however the Summer and October courses are for 5 days, therefore there would be a difference to pay of £15 per swimmer. Of course, in these unprecedented times, you will not be expected to make this payment at this time. Once the courses are confirmed as going ahead, we will contact you the week before the course, to take payment for this. If you have any questions please email us on office@finsswimmingclub.org. Emails will be monitored and responded to on a weekly basis until business returns to usual.

What's happening to the Awards Ceremony? Awards ceremony due to be held on 29th March – this has been cancelled, all who confirmed that they would be attending, have been contacted. What's happening with Easter Crash Courses? These have been cancelled and we have moved swimmers to the May crash courses, where possible. Please email us with individual queries unless you have already contacted us regarding these. What's happening with badges and certificates? Badges / certificates - if you had already ordered these to be sent to the pool, these have already been printed and will be given out at the pool when lessons re-open. If you have recently placed an online order, these will be fulfilled on our return to the Office. What's happening with regular lessons? Currently, these are cancelled on the system to reconvene week commencing 20th April; it is now appearing unlikely that we can restart lessons then, however, we will update the system on a weekly basis. Any further cancellations will result in your/your swimmer's block of lessons moving along again. You can always check your block booking dates via your home portal. What happens for children starting school in September? Children starting school in September - we will contact our ‘Rising 5’ parents next term when lessons are re-opening to find out what days are convenient for you and then over the summer holidays will arrange a new class for your child. Will I still get my trial lesson? If you have a trial lesson booked, we are holding the space for you and will move your trail along to the following week, week by week until we can reopen lessons.
